A Nikon's Narrative: Thanksgiving

We spent our Thanksgiving with friends this year. It was just us who went over to another couple's house that had invited us. So small and relaxed. Their daughter was away, but their 8 year old niece was there and kept Kade entertained.

Kade had a blast playing and we had a wonderful deep fried turkey with all the traditional sides. The food was very good.

Kallista was a well-mannered and happy baby. She was either napping or happily being held...bliss for a baby.

Kade was a curious toddler that played hard with the playhouse, sidewalk chalk, porch swing, and general fun kid stuff. However, he didn't get his regular nap in so he had a mini-breakdown around 4:30 when he fell out of the wagon and hit his head (he was completely fine, by the way). Our gracious hosts asked if Kade wanted to take a bath...which we did since he was filthy from playing in the sand, but in his cranky mood, he had another breakdown when I showed the bath toys that consisted of rubber snakes. Shane took over at that point because Kade would not step foot in that bubble bath. He finally got cleaned and changed, then shortly after we left for home. Whew! The kids slept during the hour ride home and Kade went to bed as soon as we got home at 6:30 (90 minutes earlier than his normal bed time). He was one tired boy!

It was a nice stress-free holiday...A special thank you to our hosts. I wish I had gotten more pictures of everyone.

Watching "Max & Ruby" with new friend, Kadence. Kade actually likes this cartoon and watches it on occasion at our house. Shane, on the other hand, hates this cartoon because he says the older sister talks condescendingly to her younger brother and he can't stand her. I have to admit, her voice is rather grating on the nerves and she can be annoying.
