Kade had his 12 month checkup yesterday. He now weighs 21 lbs 1 oz and measures 29 1/2 inches in length. He has gotten taller but stayed the same weight. He is thinning out from all the walking he does. In all areas...head circumference, height, and weight he is in the 50th percentile...average. We were told that he looks good, which we already knew.

| In the Waiting Room |
Kade was a social butterfly in the waiting room. He was chatting up a boy that was probably 7 or 8 years old. ANd handing my water bottle to some lady there. Silly boy!

| Getting checked out and waiting for the doctor |
While waiting for the doctor, Kade was exploring every nook and cranny and being LOUD! He kept screaming excitedly. There was kind of an echo in the room, so that may be one reason why he was being vocal. We couldn't get him to quiet down. I was showing him things and making a balloon out of a glove to occupy him in hopes he would put a cork in it, but that did not happen. Poor Shane was going on no sleep from working that night, so was practically falling asleep in the exam room while we waited. But he had a breathing alarm in the room with him, keeping him somewhat awake. Plus he got to nap in the car on the way to and from the doctor (20 minute car ride each way). Then when Kade was being examined...stony silence!!!
Poor baby had 3 shots in the thighs. He did not like those needles, as I'm sure all babies don't. We also got a lab slip as he has to get his blood drawn to check for anemia. I am dreading that. Shane is definitely going on that visit. He had absolutely no reactions to the shots this round, yay! Before he has experienced tiredness and fever, but not this time. His next checkup is at 15 months.
