I thought I would take pictures of what our shipments actually look like for family and friends that were curious. Our last shipment from Africa finally arrived on Friday, after spending nearly 3 weeks at the port in US Customs. These are the crates that they are packed in and shipped overseas in. Only the two big ones are ours. Our storage had 6 of these crates and our Africa express shipment was one crate.
This is what the crate looks like on the inside, filled with our things.
Removing the side of the second crate for unpacking.
| I think the crate on the right has seen better days...we're lucky all our stuff made it in one piece! |
This is the pile of the majority of our boxes piled up in the living room....there were also boxes in the kitchen, mattress and box spring in the hallway and a few items in the garage. I should have taken a picture in the height of the mess with the boxes opened and stuff everywhere. We are slowly getting things put away and organized! Things look better already!
US Customs inspected about 15 of our boxes. All the boxes with green tape were inspected. This one contained a bag with cold weather gear like hats and scarves. A lot of our boxes that had books in them were also inspected. Shane's poker chip set, which is in a metal briefcase, was also inspected and the locks were broken and mangled in the process.
And this is what the pups were doing while the movers were here. They wanted to say hello to the guys so bad!!! Dobby is on the left, Buddha on the right. Cyrus, the antisocial dog, was closed up in the office.
So glad our stuff is finally all here...now the sorting and garage sale organizing begins!
