Concert at The Hyatt Dushanbe
Last Tuesday night on 12 May, Shane and I were invited to the concert of Maroon Town. This was an invitation only event at the Hyatt (which has only been open in Dushanbe for 4 months). The pictures below are of this event. Maroon Town is an excellent band and we had the privilege of listening to them last year too. They come into Tajikistan and work with many of the Tajik musicians around Tajikistan. They were also kind enough to put on a brief concert at the Marine House. The Americans played soccer (aka football) against the British & Maroon Town. It was quite a turnout. They also do a free concert for all of Dushanbe in the center of town. Last year they had 3,000 spectators.

Shane with Harmut & Vera...The story is...Our friend, Dan, says to me..."Look at Shane over there, doesn't he look like a little kid eating his ice cream with his parents at the ice cream parlor". I looked...and sure enough he did. Shane was eating his waffle cone ice cream, stooped over it, so as not to get crumbs on himself, with Vera and Harmut looking at him. Hilarious!!! SO had to get a picture...unfortunately the picture does not show it as well. Although it's hidden, he is holding his ice cream cone. And he was looking blissfully happy, although this picture doesn't show it. Oh well! Still funny memories!
